Fast and Furious 6 Movie Review

 

 

Plot

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian's (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin's empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

My Thoughts

Right from the get-go It's fast, loud and action packed. At this stage I am sure you know your self whether or not you are a Fast&Furious fan. I am a huge fan of the francise (Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez in one movie - whats not to like??).

Fast and Furious 6 is not only a movie for car lover but also a movie for action lovers too with many a physical fight, gun shooting and of course fast action OTT packed scenes to be had.

 

I am personally a huge fan of Michelle Rodriguez and Gina Carano(Haywire) who are both possibley two of the most 'bad ass' women in Hollywood. So to see the two of them in one movie kicking ass was a major plus.

The movie it's self will keep the thrill seeking viewer glued with some major cool plot twists right until the very end. My advise - don't leave until it is over and trust me, when it is over you will be looking forward to

*Jason Statham and David Tennant were at different points considered to play the film's antagonist before Luke Evans signed on.   

 

*Michelle Rodriguez (Letty) did not have a driver's license before she began filming for the first part in the series

 

*Rita Ora makes an appearance.

Michelle Rodriguez and Gina Carano did not use stunt doubles for their fight scenes. They have both been qouted saying that filming their fight scenes were amoung the favourite days on set.

1. Start the day with some.

Add some to your breakfast. 

2. Keep an apple, banana or some celery near by to snack on, instead of crisps & crap.

3. Drink 100% juice/ juice smoothie instead of coffee and fizzy drinks.

4. Add AT LEAST ONE extra veggie to your dinner.

5. Having dessert? Add a sweet fruit to have on the side, such as a hand full of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or some melon.

Oblivion - Movie Review

Oblivion

Plot

Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man's confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack's mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

Oblivion was shot in stunning digital 4K resolution on location across the United States and Iceland. 

My Thoughts

I am not really one for sci-fi movies nor am I one for Tom Cruise so I was surprised when I walked out realising I actually liked Oblivion. The first thing that struck me is how beautiful the visual effects of this movie are. I really wanted my own open planned house in the clouds with a pool. 

The casting for this movie was spot on. Action man himself (Tom Cruise), Olga Kurylenko, Nikolai Coster-Waldau and Morgan Freeman bring the right amount of action, sexieness and 'bad-assness' to the film.

As for the plot if you want to watch a film that will engross you with a futuristic story full of action and a little bit of love this is for you.

Interesting Facts 

*Olivia Wilde and Noomi Rapace both auditioned for the role of Julia, but the role went to Olga Kurylenko.

*Diane Kriver and Kate Beckinsale Where both considered for the role of Victoria, but Andrea Riseborough was cast.

*Tom Cruise celebrated his 50th birthday on the set and was given one of the futuristic bikes as a present.

*Disney had first acquired rights to the film but realised that they would have a lot of Story changing to make the film a PG rating.

Mothers Day Tips

Want to make your mom feel extra special on mother's day? Here are some tips to help do so.

1. Breakfast in bed. It's a given. Unless cereal is your moms one and only favourite breakfast get crafty and give her a selection of about 3 different choices. Remember to present it all on a tray nicely.

2. A present that she and only she will love. For example if your mother like mine loves her garden and flowering get a plant she can watch grow or if she collects Pandora Charms get her one you know she will love.

3. A day free from house work or work of any kind. This is the day your mother relaxes and watches everyone else do the work. So make sure she has a cosy cushion and cosy slippers on and sits back and enjoys.

4. Take your mom out for lunch in her favourite place. Be it a picnic in the park, lunch in her favourite restaurant or home made lunch while watching her favourite movie. For extra brownie points make her favourite lunch.

5. Treat your mom to her favourite dinner. Whether you make it or by and clean up after.
